Finally, it's nice to be back tapping the keyboard and creating a post on my past adventures. It was almost Valentine's day when we decided to spend it in a beautiful island nearby. Camiguin was not one of the option since we have been there so many times. So we decided why not try Samal, but we dont want to settle for less since its a special day. Using the search engine again we found Pearl Farm Resort's packages. The resort has a day tour package that suits our budget and preferences. Right away we booked online because they only allows credit card payment and it would take 24 hours for confirmation. In my own opinion, its for security measures maybe they need substantial information for background checking. It was on eve of Feb 12 when we headed to Davao City through Bukidnon-Davao road, leaving CDO at 12am and arriving in Davao City at 6am. Having reservations at Sampaguita Inn makes it convenient for us because we dont have a hard time checking inn like the other guests. We took a nap right after our light breakfast, were too sleepy to roam around the city right away. Before lunch time we went to The Cathedral to pay a visit and thanks God for a safe trip, then proceed to SM davao buying some stuff and having lunch on our favorite fastfood chain before heading to Crocodile Park. Nothing changed from the last time I went there 2 years ago, except for the Butterfly Park and the Zorb Ball Adventure nearby. Still Pangil, the largest living crocodile in the Philippines was lying quietly on his caged pond. We were supposed to watch a cultural show on a nearby vicinity but we need to visit the Zip City few distance away from the Park. We're so excited for our zipline adventure, though I really need a lot of guts to do it. It was on top of the hill having a nice view on the entire downtown, really amazing! Taking some nice shots while waiting for our turn, and grasping for more courage. Finally it was our turn, trembling in wearing the equipments, but I still manage to ask the staff to take me some pictures while gliding on the cable. The 350 pesos fee was worth the adrenalin, it was simply breathtaking! We forget to make reservations on Jackridge, thus we decided to have dinner on the nearby Dencio's. The ambiance was still nice but Jackridge would have been nicer. But its better to have an overlooking view while having a dinner than no overlooking view at all:) Right after dinner we went to NCC Mall buying some stuff and back to the inn for a good rest, too tired for a night out.:(
It was a beautiful Valentine morning, the sun is up and we're excited to explore Pearl Farm Resort. Heading to Marina Wharf, no room to be late or else we will be left by the boat that will take us to the resort. Luckily we reached the Wharf earlier so we were able to take some pictures while waiting for the boat. It takes us 15 minutes sailing before finally arriving the island, greeted with a Chinese dance performance by the staffs at the Parola Bar. Right away we roam around the island with a club car. The view on the hilltop was so amazing seeing the nearby islands of Pearl Farm like Malipano Island. The accommodations are on the hillside cliff covered with lush vegetation that made it more serene overlooking the calm azure body of water. For souvenirs we went to Butik just a few steps away from the reception area to buy some. Then we take time relaxing on the poolside before having a buffet lunch at the Maranaw Restaurant. Great foods!reminded me of Diamond Hotel's restaurant. And what really excites me are the dessert, it was all irresistable in just a glance, indeed very delightful to my tastebud! We left the island with a full stomach. From Marina Wharf we went back to Sampaguita Inn to get our things and headed to SM to buy some 'pasalubongs' the yummy durian yema. Then straight to the bus terminal for a trip back to CDO. It was a very memorable Valentine's Day indeed!
