Wonders Beneath The Ocean @ Manila Ocean Park June 2008

What lies beneath the deep blue sea?For little ones it's Nemo or Belle of Little Mermaid. But most of us will think of fishes in variety like sharks, rays, seahorse and more.

Lucky for those who can take a plunge in deep waters for scuba diving, they can see the breathtaking views underwaters or for those who can afford to travel in other countries with underwater tunnels like Singapore. But for most of us Filipinos who get contented on discovering it on books, magazines or on screen, its about time for us to see it for real in Manila Ocean's Park (the Oceanarium).
The Oceanarium is the first and largest aquarium facility in the Philippines where a wide variety of species underwater can be seen right in our very eyes on it's 25 meter long underwater tunnel. For a PhP400 entrance fee on adults,PhP300 on kids the price is worth it.

Begin your journey on Agos (Flow) where giant arapaima, alligator gar, electric eel and various african cichlids can be found.

Bahura (Reef) is the next zone features some of the most fascinating creatures in the Philippine coral reefs where clownfishes, sea anemone, spider crab, tiger fish, ribbontail ray and sea horse will mesmerized your sense of vision.
Next zone is Laot (Fishing Ground) where you can found a wide array of fish in the deeper waters of the sea such as giant grouper (lapulapu) and trevallies(talakitok).

The most fascinating zone Buhay na Karagatan (Living Ocean) where you can experience the underwater life in a 25 meter long tunnel that showcases various marine animals and how they interact with each other.
Ang Kalaliman (the Deep) features different kinds of schooling fish like the barracudas (torsilyo).
Pagi (stingray) is an overhang tank showcasing the top and bottom view of stingrays.

Pating (shark) tank, where you can observe how sharks behave and interact with one another.Find out why they are called the "Masters of seven senses"
After the deep viewing experience you can proceed to the 2nd floor which is the activity area,if you're tired walking on the long tunnel and feels like your feet needs some relaxation, you must try the Fish Spa experience for only PhP 120 or just enjoy watching the open top level of the shark tank for free. And if you need some time to sit back and relax, you can sit on the dining lobby or if you're hungry and need a meal you can dine at Ozeano Restaurant for a buffet.if you want some souvenirs you can take a stop at the Manila Ocean Park gift shop.
It's really a great experience discovering the wonders beneath the ocean, but most of all creating awareness on how we can help save the ocean and it's inhabitants.
